11. Explain and justify the purpose of martial arts in our life and how important martial arts in our culture. (ESSAY)

Martial arts have become an important part of many people's lives, among both adults and children. Parents enroll their kids at schools to improve their focus and discipline. Many adults have made the practice of martial arts a way of life.

Like self defense The most obvious reason why you should learn martial arts is that it teaches you how to defend yourself. It is undeniable that there is violence in the world. It occurs unexpectedly and without regard for who the victim is. Violence can affect all of us. It is important to be prepared for such occurrences, and the crux of training is to learn fighting skills. Not only do you learn specific techniques, but you also develop toughness and stamina needed to endure a physical altercation. This knowledge and conditioning lead to other benefits besides just being equipped with techniques. It also can help us have confidence Because you can handle yourself physically, you begin to develop confidence in yourself and your capabilities. You walk taller with your head up; you're prepared, calm, and self-assured. You would be surprised at the change in your mental attitude after a decent sparring session at the dojo. You learn that you can endure, that you can apply real self-defense techniques, and that you are capable and strong. theres also Making friends It's an understatement to say that you make friends in martial arts. My experience is that your teacher and fellow students are family. Your instructor is more than just a teacher; he becomes a confidant, a father, and a counselor. Your friends at the dojo are part of your social circle, helping you through thick and thin. They become good people to have in your corner; it reduce stress and many of us have tried all of them. Martial arts offers a positive way to reduce stress. You direct your energy in a physical way that is beneficial, and there is no doubt that hitting a punching bag is a great way to release pent up energy and stress.

14. What’s the true story behind the declaration of Martial Law? (Philippines)

Answer:

President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed Proclamation No. 1081 on September 21, 1972, placing the Philippines under Martial Law. Some sources say that Marcos signed the proclamation on September 17 or on September 22—but, in either case, the document itself was dated September 21.

Throughout the Martial Law period, Marcos built up the cult of September 21, proclaiming it as National Thanksgiving Day by virtue of Proclamation No. 1180 s. 1973 to memorialize the date as the foundation day of his New Society. The propaganda effort was so successful that up to the present, many Filipinos—particularly those who did not live through the events of September 23, 1972—labor under the misapprehension that martial law was proclaimed on September 21, 1972. It was not.

24. Are martial arts considered art?

Explanation:

The martial arts are called “martial arts”

because they are generally recognized to be arts, even though they are not the particular arts at which Streep and Hollywood excel. Anti-martial hauteur was well-known to the ancient Taoists:

Explanation:

So the definition from the online Oxford dictionary states art as:

“The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

The way i would interpret that for this particular question is utilising a skill to express oneself.

Getting the subjective yet fit for purpose definition of art out of the way, the second part of the question is whether martial arts can fit into the bracket of expressing a skill to express oneself.

I would undoubtedly say yes martial arts can be considered an art form with creative elements over being simply emulative.

I think one parallel I can find between other more popular forms of art (for the purpose of this discussion let’s say painting). A child can paint and that is art; that child can grow to study art, and improve the skill of painting to then utilise that skill as an outlet to better express their creativity, inherently creating their art. I find the same in martial arts. When we learn and drill the movements, that is the improvement of our skill - like a painter’s training, and in combat, sparring, demonstration, kata/patterns, it is the emotional and creative aspect from within ourselves mixed with the skill that has been learnt that allows us to creatively express ourselves through martial arts, from this people can appreciate good movement, swift footwork, intricate combinations, powerful stances and the beauty of the art.

Don’t get me wrong, emulation is important for the improvement of the skill but the mixture with your own intention and emotional power is what makes it art and is why there are so many people who do the same martial arts yet have so much variation between themselves.

I am not sure if this will aid the discussion but for good measure there is a difference between a martial artist and a fighter (bear in mind that they are not mutually dependent or independent states of being). Generally a fighter’s objective is to purely fight and beat their opponent where as a martial artist’s objective is to improve and utilise their skill in the best way to express themselves through their art which can be combative, demonstrative or internal.
